A smoothing treatment relaxes frizz, smooths the cuticle, and cuts blow-dry time. It does not chemically straighten the hair the way an old-school relaxer does. The hair still moves, still has body, and still curls if you let it.

What smoothing treatments do
- Reduce frizz and humidity sensitivity.
- Smooth the cuticle so light reflects more evenly (extra shine).
- Cut blow-dry time, often by half.
- Make daily styling significantly easier.
- Last 3-4 months on average. The treatment fades gradually, no harsh line.
What smoothing treatments do not do
- They do not permanently straighten curly hair.
- They do not replace a haircut - get the cut you want first.
- They do not lighten or change colour.
Smoothing and colour - timing
If you are colouring and smoothing, do colour first, then smoothing 1-2 weeks later. The smoothing treatment can pull the colour slightly, so allow it to settle first. We will plan this for you on consultation.
Skin test policy
For any colour or chemical service, we require a skin (patch) test 48 hours before your appointment. This is mandatory for all new clients. It takes two minutes and protects you against allergic reactions. Book the patch test when you book the service, or call us on 0208 994 8008.
