Frizz is rarely about laziness or buying the wrong shampoo. It is usually a mix of three things: cuticle damage, dehydration, and humidity reactivity. The best fix combines an in-salon treatment with a structured at-home routine.
Why your hair frizzes
- Cuticle damage. Lifted cuticles let moisture in and out unpredictably. Heat styling, colour, and rough towels all cause this.
- Internal dryness. Hair without enough moisture grabs water from humid air, which makes it swell and frizz.
- Humidity reactivity. Naturally porous hair is more sensitive to weather. Coastal, summer, or post-rain weather is the obvious trigger.
- Wrong product weight. Heavy products on fine hair, light products on thick hair. Either way - frizz.

The single biggest fix - smoothing treatment
For most clients with persistent frizz, a smoothing treatment is the single biggest improvement. It relaxes the cuticle, smooths the hair surface, cuts blow-dry time, and lasts 3-4 months. It does NOT chemically straighten - your hair still moves and curls if you let it.
Pricing - £200 (Senior, short hair) up to £260 (Director, long hair).
What to do at home
- Wash less often. Most frizzy hair is healthier on 2-3 washes a week.
- Use lukewarm water, not hot.
- Apply leave-in conditioner to soaking-wet hair.
- Let hair air-dry to about 80%, then finish with a low-heat blow dry.
- Sleep on silk or satin.
- Refresh frizz with a tiny amount of leave-in and a wide-tooth comb between washes - do not re-wash.
